Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS)
Car Parking

(Amsterdam, Netherlands)

Amsterdam Information and TourismThose arriving at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) with their own set of wheels will find a number of different car parking options to choose between, depending mainly upon your desired length of stay and budgetary requirements. Car parking fees at Schiphol Airport are all charged in Euros (EUR), which can be paid by using either a credit card, a debit card, a multi-bank card or cash.

Advance parking reservations are available for car drivers leaving their vehicle at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and this will allow you to obtain the best possible rates, although the availability is limited. Each of the car parks is clearly numbered, and divided into rows and sectors. When it comes to security, 24-hour video surveillance is in place, together with regular patrols by security guards. However, AMS Airport clearly points out that cars are always parked at their owner's risk.

Short-Term

Passengers and visitors wishing to park on a short-term basis will find that the car parks known as 'P1' and 'P2' are the most suitable locations. These are charged for 20-minute periods up to three hours, per hour up to 24 hours, and then per day up to three days. Headroom for the P1 and P2 parking areas is limited to 2 metres / 6.5 feet. If your vehicle exceeds this height, you are permitted to park in the long-term 'P3' area, using the short-term tariff.

Long-Term

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS) categorises long-term car parking as periods of more than 48 hours, being charged as a standard fee for up to 72 hours, and then for each 24 hours thereafter. Parking area 'P3' is the main long-term facility and is close by, being connected to the terminal by regular shuttle buses, which run approximately every ten minutes, throughout the day and night. Shuttle buses depart from directly outside of the Schiphol Plaza area.

Smart Parking

Officially known as 'AMS Schiphol Smart Parking', this scheme enables you to park your car for the cheapest rate, although you will need to reserve your space. Special rates are available for periods of eight days, 15 days and 22 days, and can be reserved online.

Valet

If you are in a rush, or simply prefer the VIP treatment at Schiphol, then Amsterdam's airport offers a highly convenient valet car parking service - at a price. There are several advantages for those planning to use valet parking, such as guaranteed allocated spaces, special offers and considerable time savings, since you can leave your car next to the departure hall in a valet space, and then simply hand your keys to the desk within departure hall number 2.
